Gokaldas Exports PAT up by 12.4 pc

Bangalore, Oct 28 (UNI) Gokaldas Exports today reported a revenue of Rs 276.52 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal, with Profit after Tax soaring by 12.4 per cent to touch Rs 20.79 crore.

The company, in a release here, said that sequentially PAT grew by 53 per cent and revenue by 28 per cent. Due to high capital expenditure this year, higher depreciation also impacted the PAT.

The company had been expanding its capacities, besides setting up new units to augment its production. Its new laundry facility, commissioned in June this year, was now running to full capacity and the knitwear unit, which commenced production in May, was now producing to the rated capacity.

The release said the Doddaballapur unit, manufacturing bottoms and Jeans, had been expanded and the factory was working to its full capacity. The strength of workers had increased to 1,400. A new laundry unit had been established in the same facility to make it self-sufficient.

The company's new SEZ unit in Chennai commenced on October two and trial runs in the facility have started and about 400 workers have been enrolled. It would be fully operational by January next.

The company said it had order books worth Rs 260 crore till December-end and in the last quarter, booking was aggressive.

The company had a total staff strength of 46,500.
