Goa reply strongly, Andhra, TN run up big total
Hyderabad, Oct 28 (UNI) Kerala made a good start while Hyderabad and Andhra managed respectable scores in the rain affected fourth round of the Under-22 South Zone cricket championship for P Ramachandra Rao memorial trophy here today.
Goa made a strong reply against Tamil Nadu, scoring 181 for 2 in 60 overs. Rupesh Sarvankar (70, 89 balls, 12x4) and Rohit Asnodkar (65 batting, 213 balls, 2x4) were the main scoreres.
Host Hyderabad, resuming at the overnight score of 221/8 were all out for 283 in 121.3 overs, thanks to good knocks by M P Arjun (38, 1x5, 1x6) and Pragyan Ojha (28, 2x4). Sunil (3/38) and Prasanth Parameshwar (2/78) were the most successful bowlers for Kerala.
Later, M P Arjun struck twice to see Kerala slump to 24/2 in 10 overs.
Andhra amassed huge total as the rain interupted the game several times. In their first innings Andhra made 374 losing seven wickets in 115.4 overs. B Sumanth (63, 187 mts. 144 balls, 6x4,1x6), A G Praveen (40, 62 balls, 3x4) and V Abraham (39, 56 balls, 3x4) were the main scorers. Gaurav Dhiman (3/96) and Raju Bhatkal (3/94) were the pick of Karnataka bowlers.
Brief Scores: Hyderabad 283 all out in 121.4 overs, Kerala 24/ 2 in 10 overs.
Tamil Nadu 400 for 7 decl, Goa 181 for 2 in 60 overs.
Andhra 374/7 in 115.4 overs.
