Corruption charges against me politically motivated, says Singhi Ram

Shimla, Oct 28 (UNI) Asserting that corruption charges leveled against him were ''politically motivated'', Himachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Singhi Ram today said this was an attempt to tarnish his unblemished political image.

''I have already filed a defamation case against Ms Sanjana and BJP leader from Rampur, Brij All, for making false allegations against me,'' he said in a release here.

Mr Ram said charges of amassing property disproportionate to his known sources of income were false, malicious and baseless and were an attempt to harm his reputation.

''After failing to get even with me in the political arena, a few of my political adversaries were trying to tarnish and lower my image in the eyes of the public my making false and frivolous charges,'' he added.

The minister said he had already filed a case in a local court here on October 24 against Ms Sanjana and Mr Lal and it would come up for hearing on October 31, adding that truth would finally prevail.
