Bodies of mother, two children recovered from canal

Karur, Tamil Nadu Oct 28 (UNI) Police today fished out the bodies of a woman and her two children, which were found floating on an irrigation canal at Sungagate area at Kulithalai Taluk in Karur District, Tamil Nadu Police sources said following information from the locals, police rushed to the Sungagate area and found the bodies floating on the waters of Thenkarai Canal. All the three bodies were fished out with the help of the locals.

The identity of the deceased mother, in her forties, a girl and a boy (aged five and one respectively) were yet to be ascertained.

Since, the bodies of both the girl and boy were tied with the saree of the woman, police suspect that it might be a suicide case.

A case has been registered and an investigation was, underway, sources added.
