Blast kills one in Asom

Guwahati, Oct 28 (UNI) At least one person was killed and several others were injured in a bomb blast at Noonmati area of the city this evening, police said.

A preliminary report said the blast occurred at Sunsalighat on the banks of the Brahmaputra river at 1700 HRS.

The blast was near a Chaat Puja celebration venue.

It was not immediately known whether the blast victims were part of Chaat devotees.

Details of the blast are awaited.
