ARC to submit report on terrorism by Nov: Moily
Dharwad (Karnataka), Oct 28: Administrative Reforms Commission Chairman M Veerappa Moily today said the Commission will submit its report on prevention of terrorism by the end of next month.
Inaugurating a three-day social science conference at the Karnataka University here, he said the Commission had submitted its report on programmes such as right to information, rural employment assurance scheme and calamity management. The second ARC, which had come into existence in August 2005 and would function till September 2007, would submit its final report by then, he added.
Later, talking to newspersons here, Mr Moily criticised Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy's 'village stay' programme, stating that it would not bring any improvement in the administration. Along with the Chief Minister, the officials should also be active to see any improvement, he said.
The former Chief Minister said the Karnataka Government should implement the rest of the recommendations of the Tax Reforms Commission to increase revenue collection. The erstwhile Congress Government, headed by Mr S M Kirshna, had implemented 50 per cent of the recommendations made by the Commission, he noted.
