Vidisha, MP, Oct 27 (UNI) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Union minister Sushma Swaraj today alleged that the Centre failed to combat inflation and the challenge to internal security.

''The Centre has revealed shortsightedness on every sensitive issue including the foreign policy and employment problem,'' the Rajya Sabha member said while addressing a public meeting in support of state Public Health Engineering Minister Rampal Singh who is also the party's candidate for the Vidisha bypoll.

She pointed out that an attempt was being made to seek pardon for Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guru.

''It is a happy sequence of events that Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who represented this constituency, is now the chief minister,'' Ms Swaraj added.
