Vaiko urges PM to save fishermen

Chennai, Oct 26 (UNI) MDMK General Secretary Vaiko in a telegram addressed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today alleged that the Sri Lanka naval force had unnecessarily fired on Indian fishermen from Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.

He alleged that nearly 3000 fishermen were affected due to the firing. This type of attacks from Lankan side is occurring at regular intervals, it said.

Mr Vaiko urged the Prime Minister to save the fishermen the release added.
