Two injured as parcel bombs explode in TN
Villupuram, Oct 27: Two persons, including at 11-year-old boy, were injured in Chinnasalem village when parcel bombs received by them exploded, police said.
In the first incident, the parcel originating from Tiruchirapalli was addressed to Chintamani, wife of Alagarasan. It contained a fancy torch. When Alagarasan plugged in the torch, it exploded, injuring him. He has been admitted to Kallakurichi Government Hospital.
In the second incident, Pichan received a parcel with a cell phone charger and left it at home while he went to the fields. When his 11-year-old son Kadiresan picked it up, it exploded. The boy has been admitted to Pondicherry Government Hospital.
The motive for the acts is yet to be established, police added.
