Three arrested with charas in Guj

Anand, Oct 27 (UNI) One kg of charas was seized and three people were arrested in this connection by rural police team of Petlad town, about 20 kms from here, in the wee hours of today.

According to the police sources, acting on a tip-off, police inspector (rural) R R Desai and his team kept a vigil in the Ganesh Temple area of the city and arrested the trio when they arrived with charas.

The trio -- Mukundbawa Hassanali Sayyad, Saukhatkhan Pathan, Mustuzi Pathan -- were arrested when they were waiting for probable buyer(s) in the darkness of wee hours.

Police said, the information of this deal was disclosed by Ghulam Mohd shikh and Bhagwan Jetha Bhavsar, who were arrested by Anand police with three kgs of charas from the city, yesterday.

During interrogation, the duo had confessed that they had bought 3 kg of charas from Mukundbawa of Petlad, who was going to make another deal at Petlad with another one kg of charas today.

The police has registered a case and further investigations are on.
