Strike cripples banking services in MP
Bhopal, Oct 27 (UNI) Banking services across Madhya Pradesh remained paralysed today in view of nationwide strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) in protest against outsourcing of banking services and merger of nationalised banks besides other demands.
Madhya Pradesh Bank Employees Association Joint Secretary V K Sharma claimed that the strike was total.
At Bhopal, agitating employees took out a rally which converged into a public meeting in front of SBI's main branch.
According to Mr Sharma, the RBI and cooperative banks were kept out the purview of the strike.
He said the strike affected banking transactions of more than Rs one lakh crore. Bank employees took out protest rallies at Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain and other places.
