New Delhi, Oct 27: Home Minister Shivraj Patil has convened a high-level meeting to discuss the situation arising out of the sealing drive against unauthorised shops in the residential areas to be resumed from November 1.

The meeting is scheduled for 1600 hours in the Home Ministry, an official spokesman said.

The meeting will be attended among others by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Lt Governor B L Joshi, Joint Secretary (Urban Development) M M Kutty, and Home Secretary V K Duggal.

Sources said that the Government was apprehending that the three-day strike called by traders might disturb the peace in the capital. Both the main political parties, Congress and BJP, have also extended their support to the traders association.

The Delhi Government is also understood to have approached the Monitoring Committee appointed by the Supreme Court to supervise the sealings till January 31, 2007.
