Mumbai, Oct 27 (UNI) Maharashtra Congress President Prabha Rau today said that the state unit was unsure of whether party MP Rahul Gandhi will participate in the Kisan Rally to be addressed by AICC President Sonia Gandhi in Marathwada region on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference here, Ms Rau said Ms Gandhi will address party workers in the morning and a massive rally nearby at 1530 hrs.

She is expected to deal extensively with the UPA government's manifesto implementation and the important decisions taken by the central government and brief the workers on how they should carry the message to the people.

Ms Rau said Rahul, presently attending a UN conference with a parliamentary delegation, conveyed to her that if manages to reach by Sunday morning, he would make it to the rally.

She said Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar is also being invited for the rally. ''We would be happy if he comes,'' she said and added that about five lakh people are expected to attend the rally.

Ms Gandhi is expected to tour Maharashtra extensively in near future, she added.

Ms Rau said she had asked Congress MPs and MLAs not to attend the all-party meeting convened by BJP President Nitin Gadkari on the farmers suicide issue. ''The government is taking every possible step and more help is expected. The all-party meeting is nothing but an attempt to claim credit on election eve as local body elections are being held all over the state from November this year,'' she added.
