Mankad: UP beat Raj, Vidarbha derail Railways
Indore, Oct 27 (UNI) A scintillating knock of 103 by Subodh Shrivastava aided by Zahid Ali (78) helped Uttar Pradesh vanquish Rajasthan by 102 runs in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy under-19 one dayer here today and earn 5 points including a bonus point while in another encounter Vidarbha defeated the Railways by 77 runs.
Electing to bat after winning the toss, Uttar Pradesh scored 246/6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Shrivastav and Ali added 193 runs for the third-wicket partnership. Azharuddin Khan and Sumit Khatri scalped 2 batsmen each.
In reply, the Rajputs were bowled out at 144 in 43.2 overs.
A Khan scored 66 and S Khatri made 48. Wasim Haider took 5 wickets and Bhuwneshwar Singh claimed 2 while Abhishek Tiwari, Mohammed Khalid and Gaurav Goyal took 1 each.
Rajasthan got a negative point.
In the other match, Vidarbha earned 5 while Railways got a negative point.
Batting first, Vidarbha were all out at 154 in 47 overs.
Urvesh Patel scored the highest 57 runs. Amrendra Pandey, Pushpendra Singh and Arun Rawat claimed 2 wickets each for the Railways while Irfan Ahmed took 1.
Railways were bundled out at 77 in 33.1 overs with Mangesh Joshi scalping 3, Shrikant Wagh, Sumit Chandekar and Mohammed Karim taking 2 wickets each. A wicket was taken by Viraj Kadbe. Utpal Medhi was the Railways' highest scorer at 19.
