Mah govt issues ordinance on caste certificate
Mumbai, Oct 27 (UNI) Maharashtra government today issued an ordinance mentioning that while contesting the elections of the local bodies, the candidates from reserved category should submit a copy of their application, which they had made to the caste scrutiny committee for issuance of a caste certificate.
An official release said here today that the ordinance which will be called 'Maharashtra Municipal Corporation, Municipality (amendment) 2006 also states that if elected, the elected candidates should submit the caste certificates within three months from the date of getting elected.
If the elected candidates fail to submit the same within three months, then their election would be considered cancelled.
