Local newspaper offices reopens in Kashmir after two-day Eid holiday

Srinagar, Oct 27 (UNI) The offices of the all the local English and urdu dailies reopened here today after remaining closed for two days on account of Eid-ul-fitr.

People in the valley remained dependent on Jammu and other national based newspapers as not a single newspaper was published on October 25 and 26 because of the holiday.

The Radio Kashmir, Sriangar, which broadcasts '' Surkhiyan'' (newspaper headlines) every morning in Urdu at 0900 hours, had to broadcast headlines of Jammu based newspaper from Radio Kashmir, Jammu for two days.

However, the offices of national news agencies and other regional and national papers were working normally.
