Lion killed a Gujjar in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 27 (UNI) A lion killed a 45-year-old man in south Kashmir this morning, official sources said.
They said the victim, Sheria Gorsi (Gujjar) was walking at Brinal Hafatwar in south Kashmir district of Anantnag when the lion attacked him.
Sheria died before other villagers could save him, sources added.
Later, local residents and Auqaf committee members took to streets in protest against inaction of the wildlife department.
They alleged that this was the third incident in the area within a fortnight.
The demonstrators demanded deployment of wildlife department officials in the area.
