Incessant rains in Pondy

Puducherry, October 27 (UNI) Incessant rains continued to lash Puducherry and its suburbs for the fourth successive day today, disrupting normal life in the Union Territory.

Several low lying areas were inundated and traffic was affected at several places as trees were uprooted.

Puducherry received 5.6 cm rainfall for the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the administration today declared a holiday for all educational institutions, both government and private, here in view of the continuous downpour.
