Heavy rains forecast in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, coastal AP

Pune, Oct 27 (UNI) Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rains are also likely to occur at most places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and many places in Kerala.

Rain or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Lakshadweep and at a few places in Rayalseema, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal in coastal Karnataka.

They were appreciably above normal in Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and in some parts of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan and Goa, and were above normal in Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, south Madhya Maharashtra and in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and south Chattisgarh. They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of Haryana, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.

They were below normal in remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab and Tamil Nadu.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Orissa and Kerala and were below normal in some parts of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, south Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coastal Andhra Pradesh. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Kashmir and in some parts of Rajasthan, and Gujarat, and were above normal in some parts of east Madhya Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka and in remaining parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Northeast monsoon has been vigorous over Tamil Nadu and active over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. It has been subdued over south interior Karnataka.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Tamil Nadu. Rain or snow have occurred at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and at many places in Rayalseema, Kerala, Lakshadweep and at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
