Handbook on Car and Driving released for safe driving

Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) In an effort to create greater public awarness about the importance of safe driving, an educative handbook on "Car and Driving" was released here today.

Published by a city based publisher 'Guide India Publication', the book covering 31 different aspects of driving, including the details of vehicles and their regulations, would be made available to vehicle owners from selected petrol pumps, motor training schools and leading book stores across the country at a price of Rs 150 each.

Releasing the book for sale Kolkata Police, Deputy Commissioner, Traffic Javed Shamim said here this evening that almost all aspects in relation to safe driving, including the minor technical details of all types of vehicles like passenger cars, two wheelers, tempos and trucks had been made available in the handbook along with the nitty gritty of all traffic regulations, safety rules and even penalties for violation.

Even advices on various types of car finance and licenses had been incorporated in the book, claimed to be the first of its type in the country, Mr Shamim said.

Referring to the marketing stregies for the book, Publisher's spokesman M.Dutta informed that a ten day discount sale drive would be taken up in the city from October 30 before launching the same initiative in several other cities and towns.
