Govt writes off power arrears of SC, ST: Minister

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Oct 27 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Home Minister K Janareddy today said the government had written off electricity arrears of SC, ST and other weaker sections, to the tune of Rs 150 crore.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for drinking water project to be constructed by 'Nandi' organisation at Denduluru, he said the government had written off the arrears and added that the domestic power supply would be revived.

The minister said the government had taken up Jalayagnam Programme to supply irrigation water to one crore acre of land and called upon the people to shun those who oppose the project.
