FIR against SDM for raping daughter

Mahoba, UP, Oct 27 (UNI) A shocking case of incest has come to light in Uttar Pradesh with a government official being charged today of raping his daughter five years ago.

FIR has been lodged against a sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) following the intervention of senior government officials after the victim approached the government top brass recently.

The woman approached Principal secretary (Home) in the state capital last week, seeking protection.

The SDM, B K Dohre, posted at Charkhari tehsil, is reported to be missing after the FIR was lodged at Dibiapur police station of Auriyya district.

A resident of Dibiapur, the woman alleged that on October 19, 2001 her father had tried to rape her friend. When she protested, he raped her instead. The incident took place in Officers' Colony, Kanpur. The woman claims she became pregnant and her father forced her to go for an abortion.

She also claimed that when she approached police, the case was handed over to the accused him. Annoyed by her complaint, the accused tried to poison her.

In an attempt to escape from her father's clutches, the victim married a distant relative. Infuriated by her marriage, the SDM alegedly killed her brother-in-law on February 23, 2003. Though Dohre was found guilty of the crime in a departmental probe, he used political pressure to put the case in cold storage.
