Fatal injections at health centre

Korba, Oct 27 (UNI) Two boys died today while a woman and her son are battling for life after being administered injections at a primary health centre in Tilkeja village, 20 km from Chhattisgarh's Korba district headquarters.

An official source said that Budhwara Bai, her son Mohan Lal Kurre (14), Budhwara's brother-in-law Maheshram's sons Gaurishankar (4) and Umashankar (6) approached the health centre this morning with itching complaints and were provided treatment by an employee.

Their health deteriorated shortly after the treatment. The boys died while the woman and her son were admitted to a primary health centre here.

''Prima facie, it seems to be a case of vasovagal shock when medication reacts adversely. An oxygen tube and lifesaving drugs can prevent fatalities in such cases. Post mortem reports will make the situation clear,'' said Block Medical Officer P S Sisodia.
