Emami's first half turnover surges 35%
Kolkata, Oct 27 (UNI) Emami Limited, a leading player in Personal and Health Care Industry, today reported growth of 35 per cent in turnover and 29 per cent in profit before tax for the half year ended Sepember 30, 2006.
The turnover and PBT stood at Rs 133 crores and Rs 19 crores against previous year's Rs 98 crores and Rs 15 crores respectively.
The mega brands Navratna Oil and Boroplus Antiseptic Cream with market shares of 50 per cent and 67 per cent respectively, strengthened their No 1 position by further increasing market shares. Fast Relief, Menthoplus Balm and Sona Chandi Chyawanprash are also growing aggressively.
The new launches accounted 21 per cent of turnover.
Emami's International business grew by 49 per cent. Emami's growth is coming from all countries CIS, SAARC, GCC, Africa and Europe.
