Chhatarpur, MP, Oct 27 (UNI) Acting on a complaint by the Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) on the violation of the Model Code of Conduct in Malehra assembly constituency, the Election Commission (EC) has removed Chhatarpur district panchayat Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ashish Gupta.

According to official sources, the EC had issued the directive to remove CEO Ashish Gupta, who was relieved of his charge. He will report to Sagar Divisional Commissioner today.

Mr Gupta was posted at Chhattarpur for the past eight years and BJS candidate Rekha Yadav had complained that Mr Gupta was trying to influence voters in the favour of the ruling BJP.

Polling will take place on October 30 for the Malhera assembly seat, which fell vacant following resignation of BJS President Uma Bharti after her expulsion from the BJP.
