Dacoits target taxis once again in Surat

Surat, Oct 27 (UNI) In yet another incident of it's kind, a group of four Hindi speaking persons approached one Mr Rambuhar Mathaprasad, who was standing with his Indica taxi which bears the registration number GJ-5 TT 9570, at the taxi stand near the Surat railway station, police said.

The alleged dacoits told Mathaprasad that they want to go to Ankaleswar and offered to pay Rs 1,000 as rent, yesterday. When the car reached the Kosamba area on national highway 8, the dacoits allegedly physically overpowered him, tied his hands and legs, and threw him out of the moving car, police added.

Recently, there has been an upsurge of such cases here.
