CRPF constable killed in encounter with ultras

Chatra, Oct 27 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) constable was killed late last night in an encounter with the CPI(Maoist) in Barurasharif village under Kunda police station area in this district of Jharkhand.

Suprintendent of Police Subodh Prasad here said a CRPF constable Rajkumar Verma was killed in an encounter with the Maoist ultras in forest areas of Kunda.

Mr Prasad said that a joint operation,'Operation Attack', was launched with district police and the CRPF, against the ultras active in the area.

The jawan hailed from Gothari village in Bulandshehar of Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the police control room in the state capital said about 100 rounds of bullets were fired by the security forces and about 200 rounds by the ultras.
