CPI demands govt cancel land sale deeds of Congress leader
Hyderabad, Oct 27 (UNI) The CPI today demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government order a judicial probe and cancel land sale deeds in the name of the Vice-President of the state Congress OBC cell, who had bought thousands of acres of land from poor farmers in Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts.
Addressing the press here, CPI state Secretary K Narayana alleged Congress leader A Rajaiah has purchased land at meagre prices and had cheated the farmers.
Demanding the cancellation of registration of the land purchased in the name of Mr Rajaiah from 1997 and action against revenue officials who helped him, he said the government should also release a white paper revealing names of those who bought the land from the Congress leader.
Mr Narayana threatened the party would organise a protest demonstration and public meetings if the government failed to take action against Mr Rajaiah, on November six in two districts.
