Country's top shooters for Mavalankar shooting meet

Asansol, Oct 27 (UNI) About 1500 shooters are expected to take part in the All India G V Mavalankar (pre-national) shooting meet to be held at Chandmari range in Asansol town from November 5.

The 10-day 16th edition of the meet will witness some 1500 shooters from across the country, the organising authorities said.

Shooters from Army and paramilitary forces are also taking part in the tournament, said joint secretary of Asansol Rifle Club Sujit Bose here today.

International shooters Jaspal Rana, Abinava Bindra and Rajyabardhan Singh Rathore are likely to be present during the championship, he added.

Prior to the pre-national meet, a three-day 39th West Bengal State Rifle meet will be held at the same venue from October 30 where about 200 shooters from 19 clubs.
