Centuries by Praveen, Vasudevadas help Tamil Nadu reach 400

Hyderabad, Oct 27 (UNI) Tamil Nadu once again reached 400 mark, thanks to the timely centuries by Praveen Srivastav and Shri Vasudevadas in the fourth round match of the South Zone U-22 cricket tournament being played here today.

In the other matches, Hyderbad and Andhra Pradesh made 221/8 and 270/4 respectively. And Tamil Nadu putting into bat made good use of the wicket, with their batsmen chopping the hapless Goan bowlers.

Tamil Nadu declared their first innings at 400 for the loss of seven wickets in 79 overs. Praveen Srivastav (113, 224 mts, 168 balls, 13x4) and K Shri Vasudevadas (109, 170 mts, 118 balls, 11x4) cracked centuries while Gopinath (58, 112 mts, 73 balls, 7x4) R Shrinivasan (25, 2x4) and S Suresh Kumar (33, 2x4) were other chief scorers.

Among Goa bowlers Rajiv Gupta took 2 for 68, Kashinath Chari took 2 for 108 and Hemanth took 2 for 42. Later Goa made 29 with out losing a wicket in 9 overs in their first innings. Rupesh Sarvankar (23 n o, 3x4) and Rohit Asnodkar (4 n o) remained unbeaten.

In another match Andhra opting to bat made respectable score of 270/4 in 90 overs. J T Yadav (73, 176 mts, 130 balls, 9x4, 2x6) A G Pradeep (68, 205 mts, 158 balls, 8x4) V Sandeep (48, 148 mts, 98 balls, 6x4) B Sumanth (47 batting, 163 mts, 123 balls, 4x4, 1x6) and A G Praveen (9 batting, 2x4) excelled in the batting. Gaurav Dhiman (3/41) was the the pick of Karnataka bowlers.

In another match put into bat hots Hyderabad were on a back foot and made just 221 losing 8 wickts in 90 overs. Rushi Raj hit a responsible half century (51, 149 balls, 208 mts, 1x6, 4x4) while Danny Derek Prince (23, 2x4) D B Ravi Teja (30, 4x4) Mohd Samiullah (25, 4x4) Mohd Shakeer (22, 1x6, 4x4) P Kaushik Reddy (26, 4x4) and Mohd Habeeb Ahmed (21, 2x4) were the other chief scorers.

Among Kerala bowlers Prasanth Parameshwar (2/61) and V S Sunil (2/38) shone.
