Call rates trade low between 6.7 - 6.9 pc level, bonds subdued

Mumbai, Oct 27 (UNI) Call rates today traded low between 6.7 and 6.9 per cent amidst declining liquidity position.

RBI in the call money market yesterday transacted Rs 3189.66 crores at the weighted average of 6.98 per cent.

In the first liquidity adjustment RBI today transacted Rs 4160 crores through six bids at the rate of six per cent.

However, RBI did not inject any money through the repo auction.

Gilts today were subdued on speculation over the RBI policy next week and also on account of the to be released infltion rates for the week. The (GS 8.07 per cent 2017) bond traded at Rs 103.10 and gave a yield of 7.63 per cent.

RBI fixed the reference rate for the day at Rs 45.22 per US dollar compared to Rs 45.30 per US dollar on Monday.
