Cable operators observe bandh in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, Oct 27 (UNI) Visakhapatnam District Master Signal Operators Association today observed bandh protesting against the removal of cable wires from electric poles.

Talking to newspersons here association President K Shandilya alleged that the action was on the pretext of non-payment of entertainment tax to the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.

Civic officials claimed that notices were sent to the operators to clear dues.

There are about 1.5 lakh cable connections with more than 300 area cable operators working under six master operators.
