Book of condolence at Pak High Commission for Ishaq

New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) A book of condolence will be opened at the Pakistan High Commission on October 30 and 31 to enable people pay their condolences to former president Ghulam Ishaq Khan, who died in Peshawar today.

Born in 1915, Mr Khan became Pakistan's Finance Minister and later its president in 1988 after the death of Gen Zia-ul Haq in a plane crash.

He dismissed the governments of Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif in 1990 and 1993 respecftively. The Nawaz Sharif government was, however, later restored by the country's Supreme Court.
