BEML posts Rs 51.58 crore PAT in first half

Bangalore, Oct 27: Engineering giant Bharat Earth Movers Limited has posted a sales turnover of Rs 1,013.56 crore with a net profit of Rs 51.58 crore during the first half of the current fiscal, registering 28.89 per cent growth in sales over the corresponding period last year.

Announcing the results after its Board of Directors met here today, the company, in a release here, said the turnover and PAT figures for the same period last year were Rs 786.39 crore and Rs 41.49 crore respectively. The value of production for the current period recorded Rs 1,051.23 crore as against Rs 926.82 crore during the corresponding period last year.

For the second quarter of the current fiscal, BEML recorded sales turnover of Rs 643.97 crore compared to Rs 383.20 crore the previous year and net profit of Rs 36.57 crore as against Rs 29.08 crore, the release said.

With the new restructuring having been implemented, the diversified BEML was poised to notch a total sales turnover of Rs 2,600 crore for the current year, including exports of Rs 100 crore.

The current order book position of the company was Rs 2,216 crore, the release added.
