Ahmedabad, Oct 26 (UNI) The Indian captain Rahul Dravid today admitted that their team fell short by about 30 runs from the target they had kept in mind to give the West Indies to chase.

Speaking to media at the post-match conference, Dravid said the batsmen including me should look to go on to make 70 to 80 runs at least after getting a start. Today, I also got 49 which I should have converted into a bigger score. That would have given us a score of 260 to 270 from where we could have put pressure on the West Indian batsmen.

He, however lauded his team for fighting till the end and bringing the match so close. ''We tried our best, but the West Indians also batted well and it was not our day,'' Dravid added.

On Sunday's match with Australia, which India has to win to qualify, Dravid said there is no added pressure on the team and the team will play their natural game. He also added that there are a few things, certain areas which they have to correct and that will be done before the match against Australia.

Dravid also informed that Munaf Patel could not complete his overs because of an injury to his wrist. ''He was taken to the hospital for x-rays, but they do not show any major sign of worry and he would be okay before the match against Australia.'' The West Indies captain Brian Lara said that he decided to play the match this morning after having a net session. I was about 80 per cent fit today and I took the chance because I thought it would be a good game and that is how it turned out to be.

Lara also said the positive from this match has been the batting of Dwayne Bravo at number three, a position in which he has never ever batted before. ''He had a good stand with Chanderpaul and that is a good sign for us,'' Lara added.

Lara also praised his bowlers especially Ian Bradshaw and Jerome Taylor, saying these two bowlers helped us contain and keep up the pressure on the Indian batting line.

Speaking about the conditions, Lara said we are not seeing big scores because the wickets have been slow and low and the teams should learn to play on these conditions as these are the kind of wickets which await them in West Indies when they would come there fo the World Cup in March.
