Bank strike total in Karnataka

Bangalore, Oct 27: Banking operations across Karnataka was totally affected as employees and Officers joined the nation-wide protest against the government's 'inaction' over their demands, which included option of pension, appointment on compassionate ground and stopping outsourcing.

The strike call was given by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), comprising nine bank unions.

According to Mangalore report, thin attendence were reported in the Head Offices of Public Sector Syndicate Bank (Manipal), Corporation Bank (Mangalore) and private sector bank Karnataka Bank (Mangalore). The agitating employees held demonstration in front of SBI Circle.

In the State Capital the agitating employees held demonstration and shouted slogans against the Union Government and demanded fulfilling their demands.

Police said that no untoward incident reported from any part of the State during strike period.
