30,000 devotees will participate Suryopasana on Sunday

Surat, Oct 27 (UNI) Around 30,000 Hindu worshippers from Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh will participate in the Suryopasana festival to be organised here tommorow and on Sunday.

The Suryopasana which is celebrated a week after Diwali in Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh is celebrated with much enthusiasm here for the last 12 years, with the initiative of the Bihar Vikas Mandal.

The ceremony will be organised on the weir-cum-causeway above Tapi river, here. The pooja begins tommorow evening and concludes on Sunday morning. There will be cultural programmes, as part of the pooja ceremony.

Surat Municipal Corporation and fire brigade provide all assistance to the ceremony, officials said.
