2,372 dengue cases in Delhi
New Delhi, Oct 27 (UNI) As many as 79 fresh dengue cases have been reported in the national capital, taking the total number of viral disease patients to 2,372.
MCD officials said of the total number of cases reported during the past 24 hours till 1000 hrs this morning, 1487 are from Delhi alone.
So far the disease has claimed 43 lives in Delhi.
In AIIMS, 42 patients were admitted to the dengue ward and 43 were discharged in the past 24 hours till 1000 hrs this morning.
The total number of dengue patients in the hospital is 178.
Another 25 people are under observation in the institute.
AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr D K Sharma reiterated that dengue cases are on the decline.
''Earlier we used to screen about 1,200 people daily for the viral disease, now it has come down to 300 to 350 people,'' he pointed out.
