West Indies wins toss; put India in to bat

Ahmedabad, Oct 26 (UNI) West Indian captain Brian Lara today won the toss and elected to field against India in their Group 'A' match of the Champions Trophy at the Sardar Patel stadium here today.

Lara was declared fit this morning, while Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who missed the last game due to indisposition, was brought in place of Wavell Hinds from the team that beat Australia. India on the other hand brought in pace bowler R P Singh for off spinner Ramesh Powar from the side that beat England in the first match.

This is a crucial match for both teams who have won the only match they have played so far as a win here would virtually book a place for them in the semifinals.

The teams: India: Rahul Dravid (c), V Sehwag, S Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, M Dhoni (w-k), Irfan Pathan, Ajit Agarkar, Harbhajan Singh, R P Singh, Munaf Patel.

West Indies: Brian Lara (c), Chris Gayle, Shivnaraine Chanderpaul, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Dwayne Bravo, Dwayne Smith, Runako Morton, Marlon Samuels, Carlton Baugh (w-k), Jerome Taylor, Ian Bradshaw.
