Sensex up 76 pts in the noon trade

Mumbai, Oct 26 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index (Sensex) is trading 76 points up at 12,698.96 in the noon trade as buying intensified in select stocks.

Earlier the sensex opened 13 points in the green at 12,636.16 on strong global cues.

Amongst the sectoral indices Consumer Durables was down 3.31 per cent, on expectations of second quarter results from major consumer Durable heavyweights. Others on the losers list are Oil&gas down by 0.57 per cent, and FMCG down by 0.30 per cent.

Major gainers on the BSE-30 index were ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, SBI, Satyam, Hindalco, Wipro, HDFC, Infosys, NTPC and Grasim inudstries all up between 0.87 to 3.33 per cent.

Besides the losers were Bajaj Auto, Ranbaxy Lab, Hero Honda, HLL, Reliance Industries, Tata Stee, Tata Motors, ITC and Gujarat Ambuja all down between 0.46 to 1.90 per cent.
