Senior Kerala cricketers announces retirement

Palakkad, Kerala Oct 26 (UNI) Senior Kerala cricketers Ajay Kuduva and Sunil Oasis today announced their retirement from first class Cricket.

Announcing their decision in the presence of Kerala Cricket Association General Secretary Mathew, they said they were representing the State in Ranji Trophy for the last 20 years, and the decision was taken to pave way for newcomers.

Speaking on the occasion Mr Mathew said the Kerala team for the Ranji trophy would be announced by the next week at Thiruvananthapuram.

S Ramesh and S Suresh from Tamil Nadu will play for Kerala as guest players, he added.

Pointing out that the lack of a good cricket ground was the main reason for the reduction in number of players entering into the field, he said, more grounds would be spotted to rope in more talented players.
