Rio greets new Union Ministers

Kohima, Oct 26 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today congratulated Mani Shankar Aiyar who assumed office as the Union Minister for Panchayati Raj, Sports, Youth Affairs and DoNER.

In a message, Mr Rio said that the people of Nagaland were looking forward to work under him for the development of the North Eastern Region.

He said, ''Mr Aiyar has always shown special concern and interest for the region.

He also congratulated new Defence Minister A K Anthony and expressed hope that he would contribute towards the cause of the nation.

Mr Rio also congratulated M H Ambareesh and Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav who took charge as the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Union Minister of State for Water Resources respectively.

Leader of the Opposition in the Nagaland Assembly I Imkong also congratulated the new ministers.
