PM Manmohan Singh arrives in AP for a short visit

Hyderabad, Oct 26: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here today from New Delhi by a special IAF Aircraft on a six-hour whirlwind visit to Andhra Pradesh.

Mr Singh was received at the Airport by Governor Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.

Skipping the ceremonial reception at the Hyderabad Airport, Dr Singh went to the Sardar Vallabbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) to inspect the passing out parade and address the probationers of the Indian Police Service (IPS) at 'Dikshant'.

Dr Singh is scheduled to fly to Kothakota in Mahbubnagar district to lay the foundation stone for the four-lane National Highway-7, between Hyderabad and Bangalore. He will also address a public meeting before returning to Hyderabad enroute New Delhi this evening.

Prime Minister in his previous visit had interacted with the Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Mahbubnagar District Headquarters.
