PCC demands Health Minister's resignation

Kolkata, Oct 26 (UNI) The West Bengal Congress today demanded the resignation of state Health Minister Surya Kanta Mishra owning moral responsibility of the medical kit irregularity case.

Talking to newspersons here, party leader Manas Bhunia wondered how Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee gave clean chit to the health officials in the medical kit irregularity case without any proper investigation.

Mr Mishra should resign immediately from the Health Minister's post, he said and demanded punishment for those involved in this case.

'' We will met Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi with a demand for a proper investigation into the case, '' he added.

Earlier, the Chief Minister denied the involvement of health officials in the case.
