P K Banerjee serious, but stable
Kolkata, Oct 26 (UNI) Olympian P K Banerjee's condition is stated to be serious but stable following a cerebral attack with clotting.
He was admitted today to a nursing home.
Dr Manoj Saha, the attending cardiologist at the nursing home, told reporters here, ''Mr Banerjee was admitted at around 1000 hours today with slight haemorrhage and clotting in his brain after a cardiac arrest.'' ''He is responding to medicine, but nothing can be said for sure unless 72 hours are over. But he doesn't need a surgery,'' he added.
His condition is serious, but not critical, Dr Saha stated.
He has a block on the left side and had experienced pain on his right.
Mr Banerjee is a legend in Indian football and has been awarded the footballer of the century by AFC for the country.
