Nirupam Sen meets Singapore Senior Minister

Singapore, Oct 26: Highlighting the investment opportunities in the state, West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Nirupam Sen exchanged views on the growth prospects of the economy with Singapore's Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.

He updated Mr Goh on the latest economic developments in West Bengal in areas like agriculture, manufacturing, services and infrastructure development here yesterday.

According to industry experts it is comparatively easier to get project clearances in West Bengal followed by Rajasthan.

''West Bengal is one state where things are moving in the right direction with clearance being done within a couple of months. Other states need to take lessons from that,'' Express Hospitality magazine quoted late Lalit Suri of Bharat Hotels as saying.
