Mankad: Vidarbha beat Rajasthan

Indore, Oct 26 (UNI) In a close contest, Vidarbha beat Rajasthan by five runs in an under-19 Vinu Mankad Trophy one dayer here today.

Vidarbha wielded the willow first and Amol (75), Amit Panikar (58) helped the team reach 251/8 in the allotted 50 overs. Gajendra Singh scalped two batsmen while a wicket each went into the kitties of Mohammad Arif, Rahul Bishnoi, Sumit Khatri and Mohammad Ahmed.

In reply, the Rajputs were bowled out for 246 in 48.1 overs.

Principal scorers were Robin Bisht (59), Pranay Sharma (48) and Abhishek Tiwari (42). For Vidarbha, Mohammad Karim took 3 wickets, Mangesh Joshi 2, Sumit Omandekar, Gaurav Upadhyay and Virat Kadbe 1 each.

Yesterday, hosts Madhya Pradesh vanquished Vidarbha by 38 runs while Rajasthan defeated the Railway by a whopping 105 runs.
