Mankad: UP beat MP in photofinish

Indore, Oct 26 (UNI) In a nail-biting contest, Uttar Pradesh beat hosts Madhya Pradesh by a solitary run in an under-19 Vinu Mankad Trophy one dayer here today.

After winning the toss the visitors decided to bat first and significant contribution by Gaurav Goyal (57), Ankit Tiwari (53) and Eklavya Dwivedi (37) took Uttar Pradesh to 201/8 in the allotted 50 overs. For the hosts, Paras Jain (3), Rohan Shrivastav (2), Mayank Rajput (2) and Asif Ali (1) were the wicket-takers.

In reply, Madhya Pradesh could reach 200/7 despite contribution by Zafar Ali (61) and Shrivastav (33). Bhuvaneshwar Singh scalped 4 batsmen while Sanjay Pal claimed 1.
