Kerala to set up fourth airport: Achuthanandan
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 26: Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said his government would give priority to the preliminary work for setting up another airport in Kannur.
Replying to a Calling Attention motion by P Jayarajan of CPI (M), the Chief Minister said a special officer had already been appointed to expedite the work in connection with the airport project, which was under the active consideration of both the state and the Central governments.
Stating that it would be the fourth airport in Kerala, he said the state government had already approved the project. A Cabinet Sub-committee that studied the project had recommended to the government to implement the project in public-private participation.
