Indian offers new B'lore-Male link

Chennai, Oct 26: Indian today announced introduction of a new international air-link between Bangalore and Male effective from November two this year.

The non-stop flight would be operated with Airbus A-320 aircraft, offering 20 seats in Business class and 125 in Economy class, an Indian release here said.

Operating five days a week, except on Tuesdays and Fridays, Flight IC 965 would leave Bangalore at 1030 hrs and reach Male at 1200 hrs (local time).

In return, flight IC 966 would leave Male at 1250 hrs (local time) and reach Bangalore at 1515 hrs.

The link would cater to the growing outbound and leisure traffic from India and particularly to the booming travel market out of Bangalore. The service would also facilitate both expatriate Indians in Male and also Maldivians travelling to/from India for medical assistance, studies and tourism.

The flight timings offer convenient connections to passengers from Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and other cities, it said.

The airlines also announced attractive introductory fares from Rs 10,500 onwards (plus taxes) for a return trip on economy class from Chennai.

The passengers would have the option of travelling via Thiruvananthapuram but must necessarily travel via Bangalore either on the onward or return journey.

Indian is currently operating a daily service between Thiruvananthapuram and Male, it said.
